President's Message by Jim Murphy

May is here and spring has sprung and what an active season it has been for everyone from those I have spoken with. “Stink Bugs” is this month’s topic! With an active season last year and heavy infestations in Northern Virginia Last year we can count on seeing activity this year! Kevin Conally will be educating us on the latest methods what has worked and what has not to combat the situation. In our April meeting we had an outstanding turnout on customer retention with Glen Laycock, we were also fortunate to donate to the “Salvation Army” a check for 500.00. It has been a long time tradition for our members to support our local community. March of dimes “march for the babies” was also a great success this year and had record turnout in those who participated in the walk. A special thanks to our volunteers who assisted in passing out the water (Don – ABC, Bob- Pro-tech, Dick- Spectrum printing & Becky & Jimmy with Getem).

This month’s topic is “Bed bugs” and if you haven’t had a chance to attend any other classes you won’t want to miss this, the awareness alone throughout our area is on “high alert” and even if your company doesn’t treat it is also good to have that knowledge.

President's Message by Don Lenegar

Our meeting this month has been moved up due to VPMA’s Master Tech course and Thanksgiving, so be sure to mark your calendars. Looking back at the past few months with the Mid-Atlantic, Pest Fest and Pest World conferences it has all gone by so fast. This month your new officers and board of Directors will be elected. It has been a great two-year term for me; I thank everyone for their support and dedication in moving your association forward. Although my term is up, our goals continue to be promoting our association. I will continue to work on promoting WDI inspectors as a new committee has been formed through VPMA to get the word out to promote our state & local association to the public..

In the past few newsletters I have ask my Board of Directors to express them in the “Presidents message”. This month is our secretary Chary Phillips who has truly been an inspiration and driving force behind us all.
